Make a Recycled Can Bird Feeder!

Recently, my two boys found a cute bird nest in our backyard! It even had a little egg, which was adorable! So, they wanted to make a feeder for this bird family. I’ve never made one before, so I found a simple one for my kids! Plus, it is pretty thrifty as well! Here is what you will need:

  • Used coffee can with plastic lid
  • Can opener
  • Craft paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Duct tape
  • Yarn
  • Birdseed

Watermelon Pots DIY Project! Perfect for Summer!

This DIY project reminds me so much of my grandmother! She had tons of beautiful watermelon dishes and decor around her kitchen growing up! I found this Watermelon Pots DIY and just had to share, because it is almost summer! It is cute too! You’ll need the following:

  • Terra Cotta Pots (any size)
  • Fine Tip Sakura Paint Pen
  • Paint Brushes
  • Marta Steward Satin Acrylic Paint (Scottish)
  • Marta Steward Satin Acrylic Paint (Habanero)

Please Note: these where the colors that looked the most like a watermelon. You may find cheaper paints at your local hobby store. Just make sure it is satin acrylic paint.

Looking for an inexpensive activity to do with your kids over the upcoming summer months? If so, you must try this squirt gun painting DIY idea! I haven’t tried this with my kids, but it looks like so much fun. This looks like a neat activity to do with my husband too! You will need these four things:

  • Water Guns (you can find these at the Dollar store)
  • Washable Crayola Paint (to wash out of clothes)
  • Canvas or White Construction Paper
  • Easel

I’d suggest heading by your local thrift shop and picking up a whole bag for around $1-$2. I know that my kids would love to help me make these!

You can make this DIY with any cookie cutter, so this project can be made year round! Want to make these cute bird treats? If so, you will need the following supplies:

  • 4 cups birdseed
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons corn syrup
  • Cookie cutters
  • Cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 straws
  • Twine
