With so many of us on the go these days, many people have dropped their land  line and just use their cell phone. I know I get more calls on my cell phone than my land line, but many times I misplace my cell phone as I can't always keep it with me while cooking or cleaning. It gets to be a pain and sometimes there is a dead spot in my house where the cell phone may not be used. That is so frustrating.

VTech has created the DS6670-6C which allows you connect up to 2 cell phone lines to the phone and you don't even need a land line to use it. You can use it like a phone as sometimes your cell phone can be hard to hold while trying to cook or clean. I loved this phone as it was nice to still talk on my phone but to have something larger to hold.

Even better is the headset that I can use. I am always multi-tasking so this was amazing to be able to cook while chatting. I was also able to wrap presents while catching up with my best friend. The quality was crystal clear and she did not even realize I wasn't chatting on my cell phone. I never dropped the call which can be a problem many times when I am moving around the house. I have always bought VTech phones and this is another great product and extremely useful for anyone who owns a cell phone!

My son was super excited to receive Hasbro TRANSFORMERS CONSTRUCT-BOTS Soundwave to build. Of course he enlisted his Dad immediately to help him build it as he grew up on Transformers as a kid. He did not have cool toys like this to build of his favorite characters. The kit includes all of the pieces needed to build it including armor and weapons they can play with. What is even cooler is that it converts from robot to vehicle which will provide kids with hours of fun. My son loves to build and take things apart so this is a great toy for him. The kids can take it a step further if they want by creating their own Transformer character especially if they have more than one kit. They can also name their new creation and perhaps a new vehicle. The options are endless which allows the kids to build and then transform and with their friends and even their parents. I know my son and husband had a lot of fun building it together and then playing. It’s a great toy for kids of ALL ages!

The Soundwave kit came with 64 pieces but I love that it comes in a carrying case so they won’t lose any pieces if they decide to take it apart. The instructions clearly show with pictures step by step on how to build the bots which you can see in my pictures above and below. This is for ages 6 and up that I think kids will  enjoy building and can always get a little adult help if they get stuck on a step. My son did not as much help but his dad still had fun trying to help him build it. Again I love that the kit comes with a carrying case as I do NOT like to step on pieces in the middle of the night. Not fun so I would highly encourage your kiddos to pick up any spare parts in the case.

My son is at that age where he is not playing with as many toys as he did, but he still loves to build things which makes this a great toy for his age group. He can’t wait to collect more. American Girl became popular in the 1990’s and my nieces all had at least one doll. When the original Bitty Baby Doll first appeared, they also had to have own. These dolls are very well made and easy to play with and mimic a real doll as their eyes close when laid down. You can change them and they also come with a diaper. The problem with the dolls was that it didn’t offer many options. Some girls probably felt left out as their dolls really didn’t look like them.

American Girl received that message and has revamped the entire line for 2013 and have added more options to customize the Bitty Baby doll. There are 11 yes eleven options with light skin to dark skin and different eye plus hair color combinations. I was able to make my own and I choose light skin, brown hair, and green eyes as I think my daughter would have looked more like me. The doll is gorgeous. I wished I had a daughter as she would definitely have one of her own! These are dolls that will last for years. My nieces are now in college and still have their dolls.

Each doll is made from soft cloth body and and her head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. Each one is 15″ tall and they come with:

A white sleeper with scattered pink stars and a mock-wrap neckline trimmed with a ribbon ruffle
A soft cloth diaper
A hardcover Bitty Baby and Me picture book that brings her story to life
A sparkly wishing star, just like the one from her book

The price tag is $80 but I know these dolls are well made and my nieces still love their dolls. They plan on passing them down to their own children one day. You cannot put a price tag on that.

Last week I posted that I was having a Girl’s Night In for my friends and family! Only the adults were drinking and the kids and teens had water and sparkling juice.
