Gingerbread Body Scrub Recipe!

I love finding various body scrub tutorials! If you are looking to give a gift, then making a homemade body scrub is perfect, especially for Christmas. I know that my mother in-law loves these homemade sugar scrubs! This Gingerbread Body Scrub Recipe may be my new favorite holiday scrub. Have you made a scrub like this before?   • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (or other carrier oil)
  • 1/4 cup almond oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • Mason-style jar with lid

Looking for a festive treat to make your kiddos for Halloween? If so, I recently found this Monster Munch Popcorn Snack Mix recipe! I haven’t made this holiday mix yet, but it looks both fun and simple to make. This snack would be great for any Halloween party. Am I right? Plus, my children would love helping me in the kitchen with this fun snack. If you’d like to make this mix too, be sure to pick up the following ingredients:

  • ¼ cup vegetable, peanut or canola oil
  • ¼ cup Dixie Crystals powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons popcorn kernels
  • 3 cups pecans
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups Dixie Crystals granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 cups Kettle corn
  • 3 cups Pumpkin Pie Spice Candied pecans
  • 2 cups assorted candy (candy corn, mellocreme pumpkins, gummy worms, etc)

How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds!

Plan on saving those seeds from your carved Halloween pumpkins? If so, do you know how to roast them? If not, you have come to the right place to find out! First, make sure that you cut the pumpkin and scrape out all of the seeds. You will not want to miss any hidden seeds. Second, you’ll need to rinse those seeds, thereby, ridding them of pumpkin guts. To roast them, you’ll need the following supplies ready:

  • One medium sized pumpkin
  • Salt
  • Olive oil

PS: I’ve heard that some people have put a variety of salts on these pumpkin seeds like ranch seasoning. I’ve never tried any of these variations, but let us know if you have. We’d love to know.

Below you will find a very simply and short ingredient list and a complete set of instructions from A Healthy Slice Of Life! As a side note: I personally used jar almond butter that I had on hand. This also works great with peanut butter too!

I love eating apples during the fall time, as do my relatives! Last week, I made these delicious slow cooker baked apples. Long story short, my in-laws absolutely loved these baked apples. Plus, in my opinion, nothing is better than cinnamon, apples, and oats! If you’d like to make this slow cooker dish as well, be sure to have the following ingredients ready at home:

  • 6 Baking Apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Rolled Oats
  • ¼ Cup All-purpose Flour
  • ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ¼ Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter (Cold)

I have never made a pie in the crock pot before now, but it seemed simple enough! My husband recently asked for pecan pie, so I found this slow cooker version of the classic pie recipe. Long story short, my husband devoured this sweet treat. He had three helpings of this pecan pie dish! If you’d like to try this recipe too, be sure to have the following ingredients ready:

  • 1 refrigerated pie crust
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup dark corn syrup
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans (or a combination of chopped and whole pecan halves)
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving
