Mississippi-based Sanderson Farms is voluntarily recalling over half a million pounds of chicken products, the USDA announced September 24. The reason? Metal strikes again!

According to the press release, 554,090 pounds were recalled after a processing facility discovered metal shavings in the product. The metal, it turns out, came from an ice-making machine that 

 “None of the products that are the subject of this recall were shipped to grocery stores or packed directly for consumers,” explains the official release. “The product included ice-packed chicken products sold to three customers who use the products for additional processing into further processed chicken products.”

There have been no injuries reported thus far, but if you believe you’ve purchased one of these items, USDA officials recommend returning or throwing them away.

Wish-Bone Ranch Salad Dressing Recall

The makers Wish-Bone salad dressing have voluntarily recalled a limited quantity of Wish-Bone Ranch Salad Dressing because the bottles contain blue cheese salad dressing instead.

New Jersey-based Pinnacle Food Group said Wednesday that a customer brought to their attention that a 24-ounce bottle of Wish-Bone Ranch Salad Dressing was inadvertently packed with Blue Cheese dressing, which contains an egg allergen. The affected bottles have a UPC Code 0-41321-00661-6 and a “best used by” date of Feb. 17, 2016. No illnesses have been reported as a result, the company said.

The company said that affected distributors and retailers will be notified to pull the product from shelves. Consumers who bought the dressing should call 888-299-7646 for a full refund.

 

McDonald’s Hello Kitty Toy Whistle Recall

McDonald’s has just announced a voluntarily recall on a red whistle included with the Happy Meal Hello Kitty Birthday Lollipop Toy #6. This is for all USA and Canada stores. They discovered that components of the whistle can detach which poses a choking hazard to young children. If you do bring back to a McDonald’s store they will give you a another toy and, in addition, we are offering the choice of either a yogurt tube or bag of apple slices.
