Check Out the Walmart Big Toy Wish List Book for 2012!

Have you heard the Walmart Big Toy Wish List Book for 2012 is out!

There are 48 pages of great deals on everything from toys for boys and girls to bikes, power wheels, video games and more! They also have a list of the top 20 toys for this Christmas which includes Furby (I didn’t even like it that much the first time around), Leap Pad, and more!

Walmart has a deal on the new Wii U that is coming out on November 18th! This is going to be a HOT item for this Christmas. At least Nintendo is planning on that.

Walmart has added a new pay by Cash option for online shoppers. You may already know that you can purchase your item and have it delivered for FREE to your local store. This is especially great for heavy items that would be very expensive to ship. Now they are offering online shoppers a pay by Cash option which will be waiting for you at the store. This is a great option for people who are wary of typing in their credit card information or maybe you don’t use credit cards. This is also great for people who don’t own computers and use public computers. I think Walmart is smart in offering this which makes it even more convenient for people who are still holding out on online shopping.

If you didn’t know you can also use Walmart’s Layaway option this holiday season! You put down $10 or 10% of total (whichever is greater) and a minimum of $15 per item and $50. This is extremely helpful for those expensive toys. I think I might use this for my son’s dsi he wants. There is a $5 fee which you get back on a gift card once the item is paid out. This does end on December 14th. It is currently going on now.

Shop the Kroger Cart Buster Sale & My Haircolor Tips

Have you heard about the Cart Buster Sale yet? This sale is good at Kroger and their family of stores which started October 7th and ends on October 20th! Each day there is a new deal which I have been tweeting about on my Twitter page.

I wanted to discuss some hair color tips that I have found help me to get the best color possible. I get lots of compliments on my hair color and looks very natural.

Many people are very afraid of coloring their own hair at home. I can definitely understand those concerns.

I use Natural Instincts Hair Color which gives me great color at a very affordable price. I can afford to color my hair a little more often by doing it myself.

I am not going more than a shade or two darker than my natural hair color.

I like to use a nice auburn which adds in dark red highlights to my dark brown hair. It looks great in the sunlight.

  • I always wear an old shirt or old towel before starting. That way it doesn’t ruin a good shirt.
  • Also a good idea to use a drop cloth or towel to stand on in case of any drips.
  • To prevent staining around your hairline, try using a layer of petroleum jelly which creates a barrier.
  • I also like to section out my hair before mixing the dye.
  • I prefer to use gloves like stylists and bought a bag at a beauty supply store for less than $3.00 for a pack. These are much stronger than the ones provided for me in the box.
  • I have bought a brush made to spread on the hair color which. I just squirt out a decent amount and then spread it out more evenly.

Then I allow it to process, rinse it out and condition. I hope some of these tips help you to color your own hair.

Don’t forget to Download a digital coupon for a different product each day straight to your shopper card at the Cart Buster site for great deals on your favorite products at the Kroger Co. Family of Stores!

Great Tips for Saving Money at the Grocery Store!

I just came across this great article on Tips for Saving Money at the Grocery so I wanted to share. Many of these ideas are great and none about using coupons. I realize many people do not use coupons (I know shocking), but there are still great tips to save money.

I like the last one about avoiding all those temptations at the check out register. Those are the worst. You can read the article here!

What do you think of the money tips? Agree or not. Would you add your own?

Thrifty Momma Ramblings $3 CVS Shopping Trip 5/6!

I went to CVS today on 5/06 and got the following items for $3.21 with tax! I received $5 back in ECB’s!

I bought the Pantene; Colgate 2/$5; Listerine Mouthwash; and Ajax Dish Liquid. Total before coupons was $21.73.

I used the following coupons:
(2) Ajax 20 cent coupons
(2) Mouthwash $1/1 printable coupons
(1) BOGO Pantene Coupon
(2) Colgate 50 Cent off coupon
(1) CVS off any Toothpaste Coupon

I had a $3/15 CVS Purchase Share Your Pharmacy Story Coupon I printed off. I also used $8.49 ECB’s.

Final Price= $3.21!!!! Plus the $5 in ECB’s. Ok so I rolled all my ECB’s into this purchse and I lost $3.49 but I received an extra $10 ECB by purchasing 2 $25 Itunes gift cards for my husband’s birthday. I paid $40 for 2 gift cards! No tax on this purchase. You do have to spend the full $50 as you cannot use ECB’s on gift card purchases. I needed a birthday present for him, and he LOVES Itunes gift cards. It’s his favorite gift to receive. I love when CVS offers this deal. I now have $15 in ECB’s to use for next week!
