Today’s thrifty living tip is to water down juice. It stretches out the juice plus it cuts back on the amount of sugar your kid(s) drink. I know that drinking water is the best beverage and many of us do not drink enough water daily. I used to add an extra 1/4 cup of water so it still tasted good to my son. I also use this tip for cranberry juice. I do not like the taste of it, but it tastes more like a cocktail type drink to add a small amount to my water.

We’ve watrered down juice for our kids (ages 4 & almost 6) since they first started drinking juice. So they don’t know any different and have accepted it just fne. We do about a 50/50 water/juice split. It’s no secret either. They know that it’s healthier that way and that their bodies don’t need all that extra sugar. They also only get 1 glass of juice each day, filling in with water and milk for the rest of the day. This is something we’ve always done for the sugar aspect but just recently thought about how much cash it has saved us as well!
A few years back my doctor told me I could drink Gatorade to build up my electrolytes. He said I might water it down since it is so sweet. I did that and it tasted fine. Well I found I could do that with other juice type drinks and it worked tasted fine and I saved money too.
Thanks for this wonderful frugal tip. Water is a fine, healthy drink. Juice concentrates are full of preservatives, too. It’s better to make your own juice or just drink water.
Have a nice Wednesday!
