I do believe there is more good in the world than bad. We just don't see it more on the news as that's not sexy or flashy. I find when I start talking to people in my community, then I do see the good that surrounds me and my family. I remember when I had to face a major hurdle with my son at his school. I felt like I was fighting a losing battle, but I didn't give up. I kept reaching out until I was put into contact with the right lady that could help me. I was scared to death and felt inferior as I didn't finish college. I also felt that I couldn't fight the school administration. She wouldn't let me give up on myself and helped me to find my voice. She was my biggest supporter, and she helped me to regain my self-esteem and believe in myself again so I could fight for my son. I am proud to say that I was able to get everything my son needed, but also to fight for myself. It only takes one caring person to remind you that you are someone with a voice.
I went back to school full-time and received my Associate Degree. Then I realized I really wanted my Bachelor Degree which I will receive next May. I now pay it forward helping other women realize they also have a voice and helping to empower other women. I also have plans to start a non-profit organization to help give back to the people in my community.
I do believe there is a lot of Good in life and many times the bad moments are just those small bumps and help us to reach the better goals in life. Allstate Good Life also believes that everyone has many moments in life that are good and worth celebrating.
