    It was Valentine’s Day of 2010, I had just gotten married on the 9th. My husband and I went to a concert featuring Chrisette Michelle and Charlie Wilson after dinner at a nice Soul Food Restaurant. Every year since, we have gone to a concert.

    One of my most favorite Valentine’s Days was when my husband made a scavenger hunt with cards leaving clues and at the end was a dress for me to wear out to dinner just the two of us. It was special because he wrote out the cards himself and we rarely go out to eat let alone just us by ourselves.It was such a nice thoughtful surprise from a hard working dedicated husband and father to our kids.

  17. The best valentines day was in 1999 when my husband asked me to marry him after he came home to a big dinner & brownies cut into hearts. He passed away in June and this will be the first valentines day without him in 16 years.

    I still remember my first valentines day as a newly married couple when we didn’t have much money and our daughter was an infant. We ordered olive garden to go and have been doing so for the last 13 years. It’s our tradition and reminds me of love and family!

    My husband took me to Chattanooga. We went to the art museum and visited the aquarium. Then we spent the night in one of the rail cars at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Flowers, chocolate, and a lovely dinner at a nearby restaurant where the waiters were also the entertainment.

    I have one weird Valentines Day once. I dropped off the kids to go woman’s bible study.
    I had choked on my lifesaver, I had to hit my chest driving and it flew out of my mouth. I shared this at the bible study and they gave me red roses. :-)

    Although, I don’t need a reserved day to show how much I love my husband and kids, it is always nice to surprise them with a little Valentine gift. My favorite Valentine’s have been since I’ve had kids. Priceless seeing their little faces light up when you tell them how much you love them.

    My husband was deployed to Iraq and my daughter was born Feb 12 and somehow my hubby was able to have roses sent to the hospital for valentines day and I got to take my baby girl home that day. His sending the flowers made me not feel so alone <3

    Last year on valentine my daughter was not feeling so well. I thought I would be stuck at home but then came my baby sitter and told me my hubby’s waiting for me downstairs. I didn’t know what to wait for and I haven’t even dressed up. He took me to a romantic hot air balloon tour, on sunset. That was the best valentine EVA!
